Biografi Almarhum Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Jaafar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman / Biography of His Royal Highness Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman

Baginda diputerakan pada hari Rabu, 19 Julai 1922 di Klang Selangor. Baginda merupakan putera kepada DYMM Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman ibni Almarhum Tuanku Antah dengan Che Engku Maimunah binti Abdullah.

Dibesarkan di Bandar Diraja Seri Menanti, baginda mula bersekolah di Sekolah Melayu Seri Menanti. DYMM Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar kemudiannya berpeluang melanjutkan pelajaran ke sekolah berasrama penuh lelaki di Perak iaitu Kolej Melayu Kuala Kangsar (MCKK).

Pada tahun 1940, baginda ke Singapura untuk menuntut di Kolej Raffles sehinggalah berlakunya penjajahan Jepun di Tanah Melayu dan Singapura. Baginda kemudiannya pulang ke Negeri Sembilan atas faktor keselamatan pada tahun berikutnya.

Baginda berumur 18 tahun ketika Jepun menduduki Tanah Melayu. Baginda kemudiannya berkhidmat di bawah pentadbiran  Pejabat Tanah Seremban, Rembau dan juga Kuala Lumpur.

HRH Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar, the prince of HRH Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman ibni Almarhum Tuanku Antah and Che Engku Maimunah binti Abdullah, was born on Wednesday, 19 July 1922 in Klang, Selangor.

Growing up in the royal town of Seri Menanti, he received his early education at the Seri Menanti Malay School. HRH Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar then furthered his studies at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK), an all-boys boarding school in Perak.

In 1940, he went to Singapore to study at the Raffles College until the Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore. He then returned to Negeri Sembilan for security purposes in the following year.

HRH Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar was 18 years old when the Japanese occupied Malaya. Unable to continue his studies, he then served at the Land Offices of Seremban, Rembau and Kuala Lumpur.
